Leia Weil was born in California, dancing throughout her childhood and training with the San Francisco Ballet, the Joffrey Ballet and in Bolzano, Italy. Leia received her BFA in Dance from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. As a member of the Second Avenue Dance Company, Leia performed in Trisha Brown’s Monteverdi’s L’Orfeo, as well as at the Saint Marks Church Dance Festival, the Masterworks of the 20th Century Festival, and the New York Hall of Science. After graduating, Leia moved to Israel, making aliya in 2009. Leia received her Hatha Flow Yoga certification in 2010 with KinneretYoga and was a part of the first Gaga Teachers Training Program, certified by Ohad Naharin/Batsheva Dance Company in 2012. She is currently dancing with Nehara Dance Company in Tel Aviv and is directing the dance division of the Tel Aviv Arts Council.
